Dragonfly Max

To receive game assignments from the booking agent, GBSOA uses Dragonfly Max. It can be accessed on the desktop or as an app from your iPhone or Android phone.

You can accept or decline games as well as set up your blocks.

How to set-up blocks?

You can set up block by going to the website and logging in.

Once logged in to the website:

  • Go to Assignments on the left-hand side navigation
  • To the right-hand side, click on Create Block
  • Fill out the type of block and rest of the form is self-explanatory.

Types of Blocks

  • Availability: This is that you simply will not be able to officiate games. This can be a recurring or one-time block through a set period of time between a date and time. This is the most common type of block.
  • Distance: This type of block tells the booking agent that your distance to travel is up to a certain limit of miles and you can filter it down to certain days and hours.
  • Conflicts: This type of block is to block from being assigned games where conflicts may arise — with the most common one being an official who has gone to a certain school or has a child going to that certain school and cannot officiate in that game.

Reminder

Please keep this availability as up-to-date as possible and in tandem with GameOfficials and Arbiter. A lot of referees use GameOfficials to handle their Alabama USSF-sanctioned leagues but GameOfficials nor any other website will know your availbility in Dragonfly Max.

A lot of NFHS games occur during the weekday so a helpful tip is to block the week-day games on GameOfficials so you won’t get assigned USSF-sanctioned games during the time you are working NFHS-sanctioned games.

Joining Dragonfly Max

To join Dragonfly Max, you can go online at the website and sign up there. From there, sign up for an account, select official, then Alabama, then GBSOA.

If you are still having trouble, please see the joining Dragonfly Max page here or PDF linked here.

What to do after receiving a game?

When you receive and accept a game on Dragonfly Max, you have now set a commitment to the Booking Agent that you will be at that match. After you accept, you should go on GameOfficials (should you referee USSF games) and set-up a new time block so you do not get assigned a USSF game over your High School match. You should also do the reverse when you accept a USSF game in regards to the Booking Agent assigning you high school games.
