The Lakeshore Shootout is a high school tournament near the middle of February where many of the varsity, junior varsity and 9th/freshmen/middle school teams compete in a tournament for the title.
This is a good primer for new referees to get a feel and style of high school refereeing in a tournament environment with many chances to referee.
Weather during the tournament has been historically poor so prepare with rain-related gear such as pants, thermals, long-sleeve jerseys, hats and such. As always, let black be the dominate color in your non-officiating gear (hat, pants, gloves, etc.)
The tournament is split up into genders, one for men taking place on weekend and one for women another weekend.
