After many dedicated years as our District Director, Scott Sweeney has decided to step down. We sincerely thank him for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to guiding GBSOA officials to excel both on and off the field. His contributions have left a lasting impact on our community, and we are truly grateful for his service.
As we look to the future, we are thrilled to welcome our new District Director, Dorian Del Toro. Dorian is a seasoned AHSAA official with an impressive track record and numerous accolades in both AHSAA and USSF. His deep knowledge of the game, passion for officiating, and dedication to excellence make him an ideal leader for GBSOA. We are fortunate to have one of Alabama’s most respected officials at the helm and look forward to his leadership as he works to support and develop GBSOA officials. His expertise and vision will undoubtedly help elevate the standards of officiating in our district.
The role of District Director is vital to the success of our officials and the quality of our games. Responsibilities include advocating for our district’s officials, assigning playoff matches, and selecting officials for the Final Four, among other critical tasks. We are confident that Dorian will continue to uphold the high standards of our organization while fostering growth and success among our officials.
